Eleanor Thom author, comedy writer-actor and artist.

Eleanor has been working in comedy since 2008. On graduating from the University of Manchester with a BA in Film and Theatre, she founded the award-winning sketch comedy group LADY GARDEN with whom she toured extensively, became Edinburgh Festival favourites and did various projects on radio and TV.

In 2013 she wrote and performed the critically acclaimed solo show ELEANOR THOM: I AM BEV 

Eleanor also writes for some of the country’s best known comedians on their live and TV work, tailoring material for specific shows and audiences and has edited several comedy memoirs.

She has written for various publications including The Telegraph, The iPaper, Dazed, Huffington Post and Grazia.

In 2018 she was awarded The Royal Society of Authors grant for Non-Fiction.

Her debut book, PRIVATE PARTS, a funny, feminist memoir about what it's really like to live with Endometriosis, was published by Hachette UK in 2019 and includes exclusive interviews with Lena Dunham, Paulette Edwards, Emma Barnett and Dame Hilary Mantel.

Since the publication of PRIVATE PARTS she has been a fierce advocate for awareness and change in women’s health. She’s often asked to speak on panels, at conferences and events both in the UK and internationally about her own experience, sharing her vast knowledge as a patient and author. Her comedy background puts her in a unique position to be able to make an often difficult topic humorous and accessible, making her an invaluable guest.

Eleanor is also an ARTIST working mostly with acrylics on canvas, paper and wood panels. Her work is abstract with bright colours and layered textures. In recent years she has produced many pieces for private collection, commission and exhibition
